NAHBS 2013:Retro tecs's 29'er Fat Tire Triple

The results are in from the North American Hand Built Bike Show and the winner of best mountain bike goes to....

Curtis of  Retro Tech & Inglis Cycles in California who teamed up with Darren from Dream Cycle in Vancouver BC, to bring together this custom 29'er fat tire bike. This beautiful build pays homage to the classic Schwinn "clunker"  bikes that pioneered mountain bikes as we know them today. You've got to love the contrast of  the Thompson dropper post, and 1 by 11 XTR drive train with the classic, swooping fillet brazed steel frame and segmented fork.

To understand the legacy behind this build check out the clip from evening magazine featuring a young Gary Fisher, and a handful of other cycling legends.
